Description
Gaming Copilot (Beta) is Microsoft's personal gaming assistant for Xbox, built on Copilot but tuned specifically for gaming. It is designed to give players help, tips and recommendations while they are playing, without needing to leave the game or search for answers elsewhere.

Because it understands a player's Xbox activity, Gaming Copilot can answer questions about the specific game someone is playing, offer tips for getting past a difficult section, and pull in web sources when it links to more information. It can also answer questions tied to a player's own account, such as recent achievements, playtime, purchased game catalog, wish list, or when a Game Pass subscription renews. For recommendations, it can suggest new games based on favorite genres for newer players, or suggest what to play next based on someone's existing play history.
Gaming Copilot works through both chat and voice. On Windows 11 PC, it lives in the Game Bar widget, reachable with Windows key plus G, and supports push-to-talk through a custom keyboard shortcut. On the Xbox mobile app, players can tap the Gaming Copilot button to talk or text anywhere they are away from a console. On ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handhelds, a long press of the Library button starts a voice session, including a push-to-talk option. The widget can be pinned and minimized during a voice conversation so it takes up minimal screen space while playing.
The assistant is available on mobile, Windows 11 PC and ROG Xbox Ally handhelds, and requires the Xbox PC app to be installed for Game Bar use. It is not available in China. Users must be 18 or older to use Gaming Copilot. Conversation history can be viewed and deleted individually or in full, through the Xbox mobile app, Game Bar privacy settings, or the Microsoft Privacy Dashboard.
Gaming Copilot differs from the general Microsoft Copilot in that it is scoped to gaming and tied to a player's own Xbox account and activity, rather than being a general-purpose assistant.
