The add-on is powered by Yggdrasil Decision Forests, which also supports TensorFlow Decision Forests, ensuring compatibility with TensorFlow models. Users can train, evaluate, and export models to platforms like TensorFlow, Colab, and TF Serving, or use them in programming languages such as C++, Go, and JavaScript. The training process is efficient, often taking only a few seconds, making it ideal for quick iterations and prototyping on datasets with less than a million examples.
Simple ML for Sheets operates entirely within the user's web browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript, ensuring that data remains secure and is not shared with third-party servers. Models and data are stored in the user's Google Drive, providing easy access and management.
The tool is developed by the Google Decision Forests team and offers a range of features for both novice users and machine learning experts. It supports decision forest models, including Random Forests and Gradient Boosted Trees, which are well-suited for tabular datasets. Additionally, the forecasting feature utilizes ARIMA and ETS models to enhance accuracy.
Simple ML for Sheets is a valuable tool for anyone looking to incorporate machine learning into their workflow without the complexity of traditional ML processes. It is particularly useful for data analysts, business professionals, and educators who work with tabular data and seek to gain insights through machine learning.
