Description
KepCup is an open-source desktop application designed to create and manage a local team of AI Bots. It functions entirely on your machine, ensuring that all your data remains private and never leaves your local environment. The platform emphasizes user control, allowing you to select and configure your own AI model providers, rather than relying on a single, predefined service.

The core concept behind KepCup is to enable Bots to behave like human teammates. When assigned a task, a Bot processes it through two independent loops: a 'Reply loop' for communication and dispatching, and a 'Task loop' for actual execution. The Task loop handles real work, utilizing tools and files locally, and can run multiple tasks in parallel. Once completed, results are delivered back to the conversation by the Bot, mimicking a human reporting back on their progress. Context is managed efficiently, injecting only the newest and most relevant messages to keep conversations focused yet capable of growing indefinitely.
Users can create Bots and assign them specific roles, permissions, and working directories. Project teams of Bots can collaborate on goals, routing work among themselves, while a workbench oversees scheduled dispatches and tracks deliveries. Bots are equipped with memory, allowing them to recall past interactions and commitments, and a wiki that serves as their brain, storing documents, audio, and video for reference.
KepCup offers extensive connectivity and extensibility, supporting integrations with services like Notion, Linear, and Cloudflare, along with on-demand skills, MCP, and mail functionalities. The platform is fully local, meaning conversations, memory, wikis, and skills are stored in an encrypted database on your machine. Model calls go directly to your configured providers, ensuring KepCup itself never sees or stores your sensitive data. It supports a wide range of OpenAI-compatible endpoints, Ollama local models, and various Chinese vendors, with multimodal capabilities configurable per vendor. Security is a priority, featuring sandboxed execution, per-path approval for file access, and dangerous commands blocked by default. KepCup also promotes 'OpenMind,' publishing extensive design documents and decision records alongside its GPL-3.0 code, fostering transparency and rebuildability.
