The service keeps your chosen chats in sync and serves them to your AI agent via a remote MCP endpoint with OAuth 2.1 authentication. It offers comprehensive chat history, including everything WhatsApp syncs at linking plus all subsequent messages, which is searchable across all allowed chats.
Users have granular control over chat permissions, allowing them to set chats as "hidden" (invisible to agents), "read-only," or "read and send." Sending messages through the AI is enabled by default for newly linked numbers, but can be restricted per chat. Every action an agent takes is logged in an activity log for transparency. Circles also provides an HTTP API with OpenAPI 3.1 for agents that do not natively support MCP.
