On the drawing side, Muse Pro offers hundreds of handcrafted brushes organized into sets for painting, sketching and drawing, with support for importing and exporting custom .brushset files. Its rendering engine uses Metal for smudge sampling, with drawing reported at up to 120 frames per second on Apple's XDR Pro Display, and the app auto-saves continuously so work is not lost. A layering system lets users manage detail and composition, selecting individual layers to move or transform. Additional tools include vector text for adding labels or captions to an illustration, canvas cropping and resizing, and stroke stabilization aimed at calligraphy and precise inking.
The AI side of Muse Pro includes real-time AI generation running at up to 30 frames per second as the user draws, so the AI's output updates alongside hand-drawn strokes. A prompt enhancer powered by GPT-4 helps turn a rough idea into a more detailed prompt, and an image-to-prompt feature powered by GPT-4 Vision converts an existing image into a prompt that can guide further generation. A creative upscaler can enlarge finished artwork up to 4x while switching between styles for a higher-definition result.
Muse Pro supports importing JPG, PNG and TIFF images, and exports work either as a layered .musepro file for further editing or as a high-quality PNG for sharing. It includes gesture shortcuts such as a two-finger tap to undo, a three-finger tap to redo and a four-finger tap to clear a layer, along with light and dark mode and support for both left- and right-handed use.
