The platform offers a user-friendly interface with illustrated steps to guide users through the design process. Users can choose from various shield shapes, such as classic heater or round, and select traditional tincture pairings like royal red and gold. Central symbols, such as lions or eagles, can be placed at the heart of the shield, while field patterns like solid or checkered can organize the design.
Armsmith provides two resolution options for the final design: Standard 1K and HD 4K. New accounts receive 30 complimentary credits, allowing them to explore up to three Standard designs or one HD design. Credits are used when a design is generated, but are restored if a generation fails.
The tool emphasizes the importance of a clear creative brief, encouraging users to describe the story or purpose behind their design. This helps the AI generate artwork that feels intentional and meaningful. While Armsmith does not certify ancestry or grant official arms, it offers a creative platform for designing personal or fictional heraldry.
Users can save and download their designs without watermarks, and revisit previous creations in their private archive. The platform is currently in early access, with credit purchases and subscriptions unavailable. Armsmith is ideal for individuals or groups looking to create a visual representation of their identity or values through a custom coat of arms.
