Description
Ren helps managers give feedback consistently instead of avoiding it or overdoing it. It is built around The Accountability Dial, a framework from Jonathan Raymond and Good Authority, which lays out five escalating types of conversation: Mention, Invitation, Conversation, Boundary and Limit, starting with the lightest one that could work.

You add Ren to the Slack or Teams channels you choose; it works only in those channels, never in private messages, and the site describes it as private by design, visible only to the person using it. Ren reads conversations, 1:1 transcripts and calendar events for signals, such as a colleague quietly covering for someone, a recurring pattern of over-committing, or a moved 1:1. It suggests the lightest conversation type that fits and drafts a short, specific sentence in the manager's own words. The manager decides whether to send it, for example as a private link the other person can open and respond to; nothing goes out without that approval, and every suggestion shows up in an activity view the manager controls.
A per-report dashboard tracks each direct report's growth plan and whether check-ins have happened. Ren can be reached from within Slack or Teams as a chat panel as well as through its own product tour. The company cites an independent blind study of 400 real conversations, scored without telling reviewers which tool produced them, where Ren scored 4.22 out of 5 on conversation quality against 2.84 for ChatGPT on the same conversations.
Pricing starts with 15 free conversations, no credit card required. Paid use is $49 per person per month, one price whether it is a single manager or a larger team, with a 30-day free trial and still no card required to start that trial. Slack, Teams, Zoom and Calendar connections are available on every plan, including Free.
Ren targets two groups: growing companies of roughly 20 to 200 people where managers were mostly promoted for being good at something else, and larger organizations that already ran a leadership development program and want it to keep running day to day rather than stop when the program ends. For enterprise customers, Ren says it shows progress in aggregate rather than traceable to a person. Earlier positioning leaned more narrowly on analyzing Slack and Teams 1:1 transcripts; the current site puts more emphasis on Ren actually drafting the words a manager sends.
