The "Поиск адреса" Chrome extension is designed to meticulously parse, analyze, and correct postal addresses that are incomplete or contain spelling errors. Its primary objective is to locate the most accurate and complete match for an entered or pasted postal address against the official FIAS/KLADR directory for Russia.
For address data pertaining to companies in Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine, the service utilizes proprietary reference databases that are standardized to the FIAS/KLADR format and are updated monthly. Collectively, these are referred to as "reference databases."
To test the service's efficacy, users can input address information with missing details or grammatical mistakes. The search functionality also supports addresses entered in Latin script. The extension intelligently ignores extraneous information while parsing, analyzing, and correcting postal addresses.
It verifies the existence of a postal address and, based on the search results within the relevant reference database, presents the sought-after address and/or closely related alternatives. These variants are displayed in a table. The service corrects addresses to reflect the latest changes in the reference databases, such as renamed cities, streets, or districts.
Furthermore, it standardizes postal addresses. Regardless of how arbitrarily the original address was written, its components are converted to the standard format adopted by the reference database after content parsing. The extension displays the address in its complete form; even if only the settlement and street names are provided, other address details will be automatically supplemented, including the postal code.
After clicking on a correct variant, an address card is displayed. The obtained results can be viewed on a map, and the correct, full postal address can be copied to the clipboard. This tool is invaluable for ensuring data accuracy in any application dealing with Russian, Belarusian, Kazakh, or Ukrainian addresses.
