Description
Youtube Addiction Rehab is an AI-powered Chrome extension designed to combat YouTube addiction by providing intelligent blocking and filtering capabilities. At its core, Youtube Addiction Rehab utilizes AI to identify and manage content that might lead to excessive viewing. The "AI Goal Keeper" feature acts as a smart blocker, preventing users from wasting time on videos irrelevant to their stated goals. It learns user preferences and objectives to curate a more productive environment. Complementing this is the "AI Focus Filter," which helps users concentrate on important content by hiding potential distractions. This dual approach ensures that users are not only shielded from time sinks but also guided towards more valuable material.
A significant feature is the option to completely hide YouTube Shorts, which are often identified as major attention black holes. By removing this format, the extension further streamlines the user experience and reduces the likelihood of falling into endless scrolling loops. The developers emphasize that the extension is completely free, requiring only a Google account login to operate. This accessibility makes it a viable solution for anyone struggling with YouTube's addictive nature.
The extension is developed by the owner of youtubeaddiction.rehab and has a strong record with no reported violations. It is updated regularly, with the latest version being 0.0.7, updated on January 28, 2025. The developers are committed to user privacy, declaring that personal communications are handled with care and data is not sold to third parties or used for unrelated purposes. Support is available through a dedicated website and feedback form, ensuring users can get help and contribute to the tool's improvement.
