The extension offers several key shortcuts. Users can instantly interrupt any ongoing output from ChatGPT by pressing `Ctrl + Shift + K` (or `Cmd + Shift + K` on Mac). For users who need to switch between different versions of the GPT model, the extension provides quick access: `Alt + 4` (or `Option + 4` on Mac) switches to GPT-4, while `Alt + 3` (or `Option + 3` on Mac) switches to GPT-3.5. A particularly useful shortcut for advanced users is `Ctrl + Shift + P` (or `Cmd + Shift + P` on Mac), which enables GPT-4 with plugins, opening up a wider range of functionalities.
The primary benefit of ChatGPT Lightspeed Keyboard is the substantial time saving it offers. By reducing the need for manual clicks and navigation, users can maintain focus and productivity. This is crucial for professionals, students, and researchers who spend considerable time engaging with AI models. The extension is designed to be unobtrusive, working in the background to provide these shortcuts seamlessly.
While the extension is currently unavailable on the Chrome Web Store, its purpose is clear: to make using ChatGPT faster and more efficient. The developer, jmboesen, has indicated that they will not collect or use user data, and that data is not sold to third parties. This commitment to privacy is a significant aspect for users concerned about their online activity.
For users looking to maximize their productivity with AI tools, extensions like ChatGPT Lightspeed Keyboard represent a valuable addition to their browser. The focus on keyboard-driven interactions aligns with many power-user workflows, aiming to reduce friction and increase the speed at which users can leverage the capabilities of advanced AI models like ChatGPT.
