Description
Stripe Radar is Stripe's fraud-prevention product. It screens payments in real time using AI models trained on data from across Stripe's network of businesses, aiming to catch fraud without adding friction for legitimate customers.

Radar scores transactions, account signups, and ongoing account behavior for risk. Transaction fraud prevention covers card testing, unusual transaction patterns, and bot activity, scoring each charge and surfacing early-fraud warnings and disputes. Account fraud prevention looks at signup and onboarding, checking signals like business identity, website, and tax ID before an account starts transacting, aimed at platforms and marketplaces onboarding sellers. Customer abuse prevention targets behavior after signup, such as multi-account abuse, free-trial abuse, and pay-as-you-go abuse.
Dispute-management tools, built on data from Verifi and Ethoca, help resolve chargebacks faster, and Smart Disputes can manage and submit dispute evidence automatically to help recover revenue. Radar can run alongside an existing payment processor rather than only Stripe's own payments, either as a direct integration or accessed programmatically through an API to score transactions and accounts inside another system.
Stripe says its models are trained on more than 70 trillion data points across its network, which processed over $1.9 trillion in payments volume in 2025 with more than 11 million active accounts on Stripe Connect, and it reports an average 32% reduction in fraud for businesses using Radar. Pricing is usage-based, charged per screened transaction, across four tiers: Radar Standard for out-of-the-box protection and analytics, Radar Plus for custom, backtested rules and advanced analytics, Radar Pro for added protection against multi-account and bot abuse with a separate per-abuse-event charge, and Radar Lite, basic fraud alerts included at no extra cost for businesses on Stripe's standard payments pricing. Enterprise plans get custom pricing and access to Radar's risk signals for payments not processed on Stripe.
Radar is built for businesses processing payments through Stripe, and for platforms and marketplaces that need to vet sellers and users on top of screening individual transactions.
