One of Nellie's standout features is its commitment to privacy. Unlike many digital assistants, Nellie does not require access to your email inbox, ensuring that your private messages and personal notes remain confidential. Instead, users can choose to forward specific emails to Nellie, mimicking the way they would share information with another person.
Nellie offers a freemium pricing model, with a free starter plan that includes 500 usage credits per month. For those needing more, the Nellie Plus plan is available at $12 per month, providing 2,000 usage credits. Both plans include all features, ensuring that users can fully leverage Nellie's capabilities regardless of their chosen plan.
Built by Erik Hope, a parent and experienced software engineer, Nellie is designed to be a practical tool that lightens the load for parents. The tool is independently owned by Anello, a self-funded business that prioritizes user privacy and data security. All data shared with Nellie is encrypted in transit and at rest, and the service is hosted in the US by providers who do not train on user data.
Nellie is particularly useful for managing shared lists and reminders, drafting emails and texts, planning recipes and groceries, conducting web research, and comparison shopping. It also offers assistance with long-term projects and tasks, making it a versatile tool for household management.
