Description
Orby AI was an independent research company that built Large Action Models and neuro-symbolic reasoning technology for autonomous business agents. Uniphore, which sells an enterprise Business AI Cloud platform, acquired Orby AI in 2026 and folded its research team and technology into the platform's Agentic Layer.

The Agentic Layer is the part of Uniphore's Business AI Cloud used to build, orchestrate and deploy AI agents that automate business workflows. It includes a no-code, drag-and-drop builder for defining an agent's logic, behavior and interactions, along with prebuilt templates and reusable actions to speed up setup. Agents can connect to enterprise data, apply an organization's own policies, and use task-specific small language models. Before an agent goes live, teams can simulate its behavior and audit its logic.
An orchestration engine coordinates how multiple agents work together, across systems and data. Uniphore's Multi-Agent Collaboration Protocol (MCP) lets the platform work with third-party agents and tools rather than only its own. Agents built on the layer can also handle voice, text or structured input, so they can be deployed across different channels. Workflows are modeled visually with a BPMN-compatible framework designed to map directly to existing business processes.
Uniphore positions Orby's contribution as strengthening this orchestration and reasoning capability, specifically neuro-symbolic reasoning and agentic process discovery for automating complex, multi-step processes. The company frames this as adding research depth to a platform that already spans a Data Layer, a Knowledge Layer and a Model Layer alongside the Agentic Layer.
The Agentic Layer is aimed at large enterprises, across industries such as energy, financial services, insurance, telecom, healthcare and retail, that want to automate back-office functions like risk and compliance, finance operations and procurement, or front-office functions like workforce operations, revenue operations and customer experience automation. Uniphore does not publish self-serve signup or public pricing; access is arranged through a sales demo, and Orby AI is no longer offered as a separate, standalone product.

How to use Orby AI?
Request a demo: Contact Uniphore's sales team to see the Agentic Layer and Business AI Cloud.
Design an agent: Use the no-code builder to define the agent's logic, behavior and interactions.
Connect data and systems: Link the agent to enterprise data sources and existing business applications.
Simulate before launch: Test the agent's behavior and audit its logic in a simulation environment.
Orchestrate across agents: Use the orchestration engine to coordinate the new agent with others and with third-party tools.
Deploy and monitor: Launch the agent into live workflows and track how it performs.
