One of its core features is free immersive translation. When users encounter foreign language text on websites such as Twitter, Reddit, Discord, or Telegram, simply hovering their mouse over the text triggers an automatic translation into their native language. This feature is designed to be highly automated and convenient, requiring minimal user intervention beyond installing the extension.
Beyond translating incoming content, ZipZap.AI also assists with outgoing communication. For major social platforms and communities, it can translate messages written in the user's native language into the required foreign text when posting or replying. This dual functionality ensures smooth two-way communication across different languages.
The extension includes a sidebar chat feature, accessible by clicking the ZipZap.AI icon, which can be dragged to any position on the webpage. Users are provided with 10 free ZPoints to engage in casual chat with the AI assistant, which is generally sufficient for daily use. Additionally, a 7-day free subscription trial is offered, allowing users to explore more advanced features without immediate commitment.
ZipZap.AI utilizes a credit system called ZPoints. These credits are consumed when using AI models for translation and chat. While free users receive initial ZPoints, additional credits can be purchased to unlock advanced subscription features. It's important to note that ZPoints are non-refundable, non-withdrawable, and cannot be exchanged for fiat currency. The developer emphasizes that they follow recommended practices for Chrome extensions and have a good record with no history of violations. The extension is available in 19 languages and supports in-app purchases.
