Description
Sankofa is an innovative browser extension designed to revolutionize how you interact with your browsing history. Instead of simply storing URLs, Sankofa leverages Generative AI to remember and index the actual content of the websites you visit. This powerful capability transforms your browser history into a searchable, intelligent knowledge base.

At its core, Sankofa integrates with Vectara, a platform that indexes the content of your visited pages. Once you sign up for a free Vectara account and create a corpus, Sankofa can begin indexing pages. You have control over what gets indexed: you can index entire pages, specific text from pages, or even set Sankofa to automatically index every page you visit after a defined delay. This ensures that your personal knowledge base grows continuously and effortlessly.
The true power of Sankofa is unleashed when you need to recall information. Using a ChatGPT-style interface, you can ask questions about the content you've previously viewed. Sankofa can search your indexed pages for specific topics or identify pages that are similar to the one you are currently browsing. This functionality is made possible by Vectara's advanced Generative AI, which synthesizes information from your indexed pages to provide relevant and context-aware responses.
Sankofa is ideal for researchers, students, professionals, and anyone who frequently browses the web and needs to retain or easily access information. It eliminates the frustration of trying to find that one important article or piece of data buried within countless browser tabs or a generic history log. By making your browsing history intelligent and interactive, Sankofa enhances productivity and knowledge retention, allowing you to focus on what matters most.
