Recon, formerly known as FACEIT CS2 Predictor, is a free Chrome extension designed to enhance the Counter-Strike 2 experience for players on the FACEIT platform. It leverages a state-of-the-art machine learning model, trained on over 30 million real FACEIT CS2 matches, to provide users with crucial pre-game intelligence. Instead of relying on simple Elo ratings, Recon's prediction engine analyzes team composition, individual map history, and recent player form to generate separate win probabilities for each team on every map in the veto pool.
Upon loading into a match room, Recon automatically calculates and highlights the best map for your team and the opposing team, simplifying the captain's decision-making process. Its map-specific and form-aware predictions can uncover subtle advantages that generic ratings miss, such as a team's strength on certain maps or a slump in recent performance. This advanced insight allows players to walk into every veto with a clear understanding of map favorability and potential opponent threats.
Beyond match outcome predictions, Recon offers advanced player statistics for all ten participants in a match. For each player, users can view win percentage, K/D ratio, headshot percentage, kills, deaths, assists, kills per round, multi-kill rates (3K, 4K, 5K), and average MVPs. These stats can be filtered by recent form windows (3, 7, 10, 14, and 30 days), making it easy to identify potential smurfs, struggling opponents, or teammates on an upswing. This condensed data provides the kind of tactical intelligence previously only accessible to professional analysts.
Recon also intercepts matchmaking responses to reveal server location and map pool details before players accept a match. This prevents players from joining games with high ping or on undesirable maps. The extension is built with user customization in mind, allowing individual features to be toggled on or off.
