The core feature is voice-note transcription: new incoming voice notes turn into text automatically, and tapping "Aa" on any voice note shows a transcript right in the chat bubble, with words that light up as the audio plays. Long or busy chats can be condensed into an AI-written summary instead of scrolling back through every message. Live translation reads incoming messages in the user's language and translates replies as they are typed, covering more than 90 languages according to the extension's own FAQ, while voice notes transcribe in the language they were recorded in.

Beyond transcription and translation, Kaption adds scheduling and follow-up tools: write a message now and send it later or on a repeating schedule, or set a reminder from inside a chat ("tomorrow at 9am", repeating daily, weekly or monthly). A snooze feature clears a chat until a chosen time and brings it back on its own.
