The core purpose of AISPOT is to streamline workflows for individuals who frequently use ChatGPT for research, content creation, or other tasks. By providing a floating button on any webpage, AISPOT makes accessing ChatGPT's capabilities quick and effortless. Users can initiate searches or engage in conversations with the AI model without interrupting their current online activities.
To get started with AISPOT, users are required to obtain their own API key from OpenAI. This API key is then added to the AISPOT extension settings. Once configured, a floating AISPOT button becomes visible on any website, allowing users to interact with ChatGPT. The extension currently supports the GPT-3.5 model.
This tool is particularly beneficial for power users of ChatGPT who find themselves constantly switching between their work or browsing context and the ChatGPT application. AISPOT aims to reduce this friction, making ChatGPT an ever-present assistant that can be invoked at any moment, directly within the user's current web environment. The extension focuses on simplicity and speed, ensuring that users can leverage AI assistance without significant disruption to their online tasks.
While the extension is currently unavailable, its described functionality centers on enhancing user productivity by bringing AI chat capabilities directly to the user's browser, on any website. The developer has disclosed that they will not collect or use user data, nor will data be sold to third parties or used for purposes unrelated to the item's core functionality.
