The extension integrates seamlessly into the user's browser, adding a distinctive Magic Icon to the bottom right corner of every webpage. Clicking this icon activates the AI Magic interface, allowing users to ask questions and receive instant answers without navigating away from their current tab. Furthermore, AI Magic enhances the Google search experience by introducing an "Ask with AI Magic" button alongside search results, enabling users to query specific results directly from the search page.
AI Magic utilizes the text-davinci-003 model from OpenAI's GPT-3 API. The core functionality is free to use, though some advanced features might require a paid subscription to the OpenAI API. The extension is designed with user privacy in mind, with the developer declaring that data is not sold to third parties and is only used for the item's core functionality. It requires an active internet connection to function as it retrieves answers from the OpenAI API.
Key benefits include improved efficiency and convenience while browsing, direct access to advanced AI technology, and the ability to get answers without switching tabs. The extension is suitable for students, researchers, professionals, and anyone who frequently seeks information online and values quick, accurate responses. It aims to make the process of finding information more streamlined and less time-consuming, bringing the power of AI directly to the user's fingertips.
AI Magic is presented as a safe and reliable tool. The publisher has a good record with no history of violations and follows recommended practices for Chrome extensions. The extension only accesses the information necessary to retrieve answers and does not collect or store personal data. While GPT-3 is a highly advanced model, the answers provided are generally accurate and relevant, though not perfect.
