Description
ProGen3 represents a frontier in protein design, leveraging AI models with billions of parameters trained on over 3.4 billion protein sequences. These models are designed to generate novel full-length proteins and redesign specific domains of existing proteins to enhance their function. The platform uses a sparse architecture, achieving a fourfold speedup without compromising performance. ProGen3 is trained on the Profluent Protein Atlas v1, a comprehensive dataset optimized for language model training, allowing it to scale up to a 46 billion parameter model. This scaling enables ProGen3 to generate proteins from families previously unknown to smaller models, offering a significant increase in diversity.
ProGen3's capabilities extend to designing antibodies and compact gene editors. The OpenAntibodies initiative demonstrates its ability to generate antibodies that match the affinity of approved therapeutics, with significant differences in amino acid composition. This approach allows for royalty-free or upfront-free licensing of these antibodies. In gene editing, ProGen3 has developed ultra-compact proteins that function effectively in laboratory settings, addressing challenges such as the size limitations of CRISPR-Cas systems.
Profluent offers partners the opportunity to license its protein assets or collaborate on new protein designs. An early access program for the ProGen3 API is also available, allowing partners to customize models for specific data or use cases. This platform is poised to transform industries such as therapeutics, agriculture, and biomanufacturing by providing innovative solutions for protein design.
