The platform is entirely free for young people, with no fees, subscriptions, or hidden costs. Employers pay for hiring access, ensuring that Shine remains accessible to its target audience. Shine's AI-driven matching engine helps users discover career paths suited to their strengths and interests, offering a personalized career map and a digital Skills Passport that grows with them.
Shine also serves as a bridge between young talent and employers, allowing businesses to discover and recruit motivated candidates who have completed basic industry training. Employers can post roles and access a pool of pre-vetted candidates, making the hiring process more efficient and cost-effective. Shine's pricing for employers starts at £250 per month, with no per-applicant fees or long contracts.
The platform complements existing services like UCAS and the National Careers Service by focusing exclusively on the 16–24 age group and offering a unified ecosystem for apprenticeships, jobs, work experience, training, volunteering, and university routes.
