The core functionality of Choppity involves uploading a video file or pasting a YouTube link. The AI then analyzes the content, transcribes it, and identifies key moments, quotes, and highlights. These moments are automatically clipped, framed for vertical formats (like TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts), and captioned with over 97% accuracy. Users can customize fonts, logos, and colors to match their brand, ensuring consistency across all generated clips. While the AI automates much of the process, users retain full creative control through a built-in video editor, allowing them to fine-tune every detail, edit text-based transcripts, add b-roll, and censor profanity.
Choppity offers a comprehensive workflow for content repurposing. It supports various video formats and allows direct import from YouTube. The platform also includes features like automated framing, subject tracking for multi-speaker content, and text-based video editing, where editing the transcript directly edits the video. For teams, Choppity provides dedicated workspaces, role assignments, and permission controls to manage high-volume clip generation and collaboration efficiently.
Key benefits include significant time savings, increased reach and engagement through consistent short-form content, and a user-friendly interface that requires no prior video editing experience. The platform is continuously updated with new features based on user feedback. Choppity also offers a free plan, allowing users to explore its capabilities before committing to a paid subscription.
