CFEngine's AI capabilities allow users to choose their model provider and configure the AI locally or on-premises. The transparency of the system is ensured by allowing users to inspect and verify SQL queries generated by the AI agent. This feature ensures that only the database schema is shared with the AI provider, maintaining data privacy.
The tool provides a comprehensive UI that serves as a single source of truth for critical infrastructure information. Users can interact with the AI agent to save tables as reports, facilitating easy access to important data. CFEngine's configuration management, CI/CD integration, patch management, and infrastructure hardening features help prevent configuration drift and ensure compliance.
CFEngine is trusted by some of the world's largest infrastructures, including LinkedIn, which uses it to automate over 100,000 servers. The tool's wide platform support includes major systems like RHEL, Ubuntu, Debian, and Windows Server, as well as custom environments like OpenBSD, IBM AIX, macOS, and Solaris. CFEngine's policy analyzer and customizable dashboards provide real-time insights and alerts, helping organizations maintain control and visibility over their infrastructure.
For developers, CFEngine offers a community-driven platform with resources like CFEngine Build, a catalog of policies and modules to simplify automation. The community is encouraged to contribute through pull requests, bug reports, and documentation improvements, fostering a collaborative environment. CFEngine also provides nightly build packages for testing new features and bug fixes.
