Chippy is a ChatGPT Chrome extension that lets users bring AI with them wherever they go online, without switching tabs. From within the browser, Chippy can summarize, research, translate, and answer questions, so users type a question or select text on a page and get an answer in place instead of copying and pasting into a separate tool.
Chippy includes suggested prompts to get started and relevant follow-ups to dig deeper, a focused search mode that narrows Chippy's search to the current page for information beyond ChatGPT's knowledge cutoff, and an email assistant to help draft quick replies. It requires no account to get started.
Chippy provides twenty free GPT-3.5 queries daily, and users can supply their own OpenAI API key for more queries or to use GPT-4. Conversations and the API key are stored locally in the browser and can be deleted at any time, and Chippy does not track browsing history. It supports Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers.
