Description
Chiaro (chiaro.ai) is an AI audio-guide app for iPhone that turns any photo into an instant audio story. Point your camera at a painting, sculpture, building or landmark, and Chiaro recognizes it and begins narrating in seconds — telling you what it is, who made it and why it matters.
The depth of each story scales from a two-minute overview to around twenty minutes of context, and Chiaro works almost anywhere: basilicas, murals, brutalist architecture and more. When it does not recognize the exact object, it still explains the style, period and context. Inside museums it detects the setting and shifts to deeper analysis of composition, symbolism and backstory, letting you use your own headphones instead of a rental audio guide.
Beyond recognition, Chiaro offers context-aware chat to ask follow-up questions, bilingual landmark names in English and the local language, travel tips for planning your day, local secrets near you, and one-tap navigation that opens recommendations in Google Maps. It runs on iOS 16+ and is free to try, created in Rome.
